Overview
FlowPick is a browser extension that helps you detect and download M3U8/HLS and MPD/DASH streaming media. We built FlowPick with a privacy-first philosophy — your data never leaves your device.
Data Collection
FlowPick does not collect any user data. Specifically, we do NOT:
- Collect personal information (name, email, IP address, etc.)
- Track browsing history or website visits
- Record which media files you detect or download
- Use analytics, telemetry, or tracking scripts
- Include third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
- Send any data to external servers
Data Processing
All media processing happens entirely within your browser:

Permissions
FlowPick requests the following browser permissions, each with a clear and minimal purpose:
activeTab
Access the current tab to detect streaming media resources. This permission is only activated when you click the FlowPick icon — the extension does not run in the background.
webRequest
Monitor network requests to identify M3U8/HLS and MPD/DASH streaming manifests. No request data is stored or transmitted.
downloads
Save downloaded media files to your computer. Only used when you explicitly initiate a download.
storage
Save your extension preferences (theme, filter settings, etc.) locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
Local Storage
FlowPick stores the following data locally on your device:
- User preferences: Theme selection, filter settings, display options
- Detected media list: Temporarily cached during active browser sessions (cleared when the tab is closed)
You can clear all locally stored data at any time:
- Open FlowPick settings
- Click "Clear All Data"
- Confirm the action
Or clear it through your browser's extension management page.
Third-Party Services
FlowPick does not integrate with any third-party services. There are no external API calls, no cloud processing, and no third-party cookies or scripts.
Children's Privacy
FlowPick does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, our extension is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how FlowPick handles data, we will update this page with the revised policy and the "Last updated" date. Since FlowPick does not collect data, any future changes would only expand our privacy commitments, not reduce them.
